Choose what you want to look back on.

You might want to remember when a session happened, roughly how long it lasted or what held your baby’s interest. Pick the details you will use rather than trying to document every movement.

Tummy time is awake time on the tummy. The NHS explains its role in babies’ activity and development and advises doing it while your baby is awake and alert, with you there to supervise. Ask your child’s clinician for guidance that fits your baby.

Keep your attention on the activity while it is happening. You can write the note afterward. A timer or record should help you remember the session without distracting from your baby.

Keep the context you can use next time.

Alongside a time, a few words can describe what you tried. “On the mat, watching the red toy” gives another caregiver a place to start. You might also note that your baby turned toward a familiar voice or seemed ready to finish.

Record what you observed without turning one session into a judgment about progress. Different days can involve different places, moods and interruptions. If a note raises a developmental question, keep the example to discuss with your clinician.

Time a session or add it afterward.

Tummy time is a timed activity in Diaper Days. Start its timer for a session, then stop it when the session ends. If you already know the time, save the activity afterward instead.

Notes can hold the toy, place or observation you want to remember. The saved session stays in History with the other activities you recorded that day, so you can find it again without keeping a separate tally.

If a timer kept running after you finished, correct the saved details to match what you know. You can leave an approximate duration described as approximate rather than treating a forgotten timer as an exact record.

Use the record for a useful conversation.

At a handoff, share the note that might help the next caregiver: what you tried, what your baby seemed interested in and anything you wanted to ask about. A recorded session can start that conversation without becoming a target everyone has to match.

Some observations are also memories you want to keep. If a session includes a first you would like to remember, save the date and the story while they are fresh, then return to enjoying the time together.
