Start with the place you will use it.

A dedicated tracker can stay near a changing table or feeding chair. A phone travels with the caregiver. Think through both an ordinary morning at home and a day away, then decide where the record needs to be available.

If you already own a Talli device, try the physical button and the app for the same kind of event. Check what time and details were saved, and whether you need to add context afterward. For a phone-based trial, keep the app easy to reach and record only the details you expect to use.

Talli’s official site currently says it has paused hardware manufacturing and sold out of its inventory. The app remains available for families starting without a physical tracker.

Compare the app separately from the device.

A device purchase and an app subscription pay for different things. If you own hardware already, compare the continuing app costs. New families can use the Talli app without buying a tracker.

Agree which details a quick entry should include.

Talli’s app page lists caregiver invitations and timers for nursing, pumping and sleep. Diaper Days lets caregivers share a child’s iCloud profile and shows who added or edited an event.

Try a handoff that needs a little context: a feed took longer, a diaper was changed away from home or a nap time is approximate. Decide whether that detail belongs in a note and who will add it. A quick entry is useful when the next caregiver understands what it means.

For ideas about choosing those details, read the caregiver coordination guide. The app you keep should fit the people recording the day as well as the person reading it later.

Check the paid tools you expect to use.

Talli Premium’s official page lists button customization, one-touch app logging, smart alerts and CSV exports. The US App Store lists Talli Baby Premium at $3.99 monthly or $39.99 yearly.

Keep a copy of the record you already have accessible while trying another app. Choose a date for new entries to move over, so a button press in one system and a phone entry in another do not become two records of the same event.

Pay for the extra work you want help with.

Compare the plan you would buy.
