Choose a record you can keep up with.

Start with the questions you ask during an ordinary day. You may want the last bottle amount, the side used during nursing or a note about an unsettled afternoon. Pick a few details that help, rather than filling every available field.

Try the same small set of entries in each app. Add a feed while holding your baby, enter a nap after it has ended, and correct a diaper change saved at the wrong time. Then look for those details again. This reveals more about day-to-day fit than a long feature checklist.

This comparison is about Baby Tracker – Newborn Log by Nighp. Nighp also sells a separate Baby Tracker Pro app. Check which listing you are looking at before comparing a purchase.

Both offer free everyday tracking.

Diaper Days records feeds, sleep, diapers and other care events for free. Baby Tracker’s listing also says its core tracking stays free.

Decide whether you want past records or timing cues.

Baby Tracker’s optional What’s Next uses recent logs to produce on-device timing cues. Its listing describes suggestions around sleep, feeding and diaper checks, and says to use them alongside your baby’s cues and your judgment.

In Diaper Days, Insights helps you look back at what you recorded: bottle amounts, nursing time, sleep stretches and diaper counts. If you are asking whether nights have changed, start with the sleep record guide. Choose between these approaches by the question you want help answering.

Try a handoff before moving your history.

Baby Tracker lists multi-device caregiver syncing. Diaper Days shares a child’s profile through iCloud and shows who added or edited an event. Try a shared day with the people who will use the app, including someone who only records an occasional feed.

Agree where new entries go during the trial. If two apps are active, choose one as the main record so a feed does not get mistaken for two feeds. Keep an export or other copy of your earlier history accessible while deciding where to record new events.

Pay for the extra work you want help with.
